The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that several rivers in Hanoi remained above warning level 3.
The Cau, Tich and Bui rivers were still high, while water levels on the Ca Lo River were falling but remained above warning level 2.
In Bac Ninh Province, the Thuong River remained above warning level 3, while floodwaters on the Cau and Luc Nam rivers continued to recede.
Rivers in Lang Son Province were also receding, although the Trung River at Huu Lung station remained above warning level 3.
In Thanh Hoa, the Buoi River remained above warning level 2, while the Hoang Long River in Ninh Binh continued to fall. In Nghe An Province, upstream water levels were above warning level 1.
Meanwhile, water levels in the upper Mekong Delta were rising rapidly due to upstream Mekong flooding combined with high tides. By August 31, water levels at Tan Chau and Chau Doc stations could reach warning level 1.
Authorities warned of a high risk of flooding in low-lying and riverside areas of An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Can Tho.
