The southern region and the Central Highlands will see medium to heavy rainfall which will gradually abate from September 25. The zone has caused rainstorm in the above areas for the last couple of days.
Late afternoon yesterday, high tide started surging highly in the Mekong Delta and flooded fruit orchards, rice and vegetable fields in provinces in the lower reaches of the Mekong river such as Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.
Over 1.5 kilometers of National Highway 1A in Tam Binh district, Vinh Long province was inundated under 0.5 meter of water. Floodwater overflowed into residents’ houses alongside the street, resulted in traffic chaos and many engine failures.
