Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected to persist in the Central Highlands and the Southern region.
Meteorologists reported Friday morning, August 7, that rainfall in the Northern and North-Central regions has begun to ease compared to previous days. Scattered daytime showers and thunderstorms are forecast to bring 15–30mm of rain, with isolated areas receiving over 80mm. Precipitation is expected to clear further into the night.
Conditions in the Northern region will turn sunny at times during the afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, bringing a return of hot and humid weather. However, localized heavy rain remains a threat in provinces such as Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Son La, and Hai Phong, as well as the coastal stretch from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh.
Later in the day, the Central Highlands and Southern region will see scattered showers and thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening, with rainfall generally between 15–30mm and localized peaks over 80mm.
The current rainy spell in the Southern region is expected to last through August 11, primarily developing in the afternoon and evening hours, though eastern provinces may experience nighttime showers. Precipitation is projected to taper off from August 12 to 16.
