The third Saigon International Guitar Festival 2016 (SIGF 2016) will take place at the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music on December 7-11.
The SIFG’s organization board previously held a program to select prominent young guitarists to participate in the festival. The contest received 20 entries nationwide. Ten finalists were selected to join the SGIF.
They will perform in the “Vietnamese young guitarists 2016” program on December 11 with the participation of guitar students from Thailand and the U.S.
The festival will also feature internationally well-known guitarists, including Japanese Naokia Ikuta, Callum Henshaw and Le Hoang Minh from Australia, Robert Trent and Pamela Swenson Trent from the U.S., Hungary’s Andras Csaki; and local artists, the guitar quarter “Guitar Saigon”, Nguyen Thanh Huy, Nguyen Tri Doan, Huynh Ba Tho and Tran Hoai Phuong.
Being launched in 2014, the concert is an impressive cultural exchange event where a whole spectrum of colorful emotions will be assembled. This is a rare opportunity for the Vietnamese audiences to enjoy the special of international finger-style guitar
The event will include exchanges, seminars and workshops on learning guitar, introducing lesson on beginner guitar techniques and basic skills for players.
