The highest temperature in some places could reach by 39- 40 degrees Celsius today and it continues to increase in next couple days.
In particular, temperature in Muong La, Song Ma and Yen Chau (Son La province), Tuong Duong (Nghe An province), Huong Khe (Ha Tinh province), Tuyen Hoa (Quang Binh province), Dong Hoi and Dong Ha (Quang Tri province) averaged between 38 and over 39 degrees Celsius.
The long- lasting heatwave is predicted to spread from the Northern to the Central regions.
The whole country experiences the most extreme hot days during this year’s dry season.
The weather experts issued the heat-related risk warnings as dehydrated body, exhaustion and stroke were due to thermal shock in case of going out or working during consecutive hours under the sun.
Therefore, people avoid to spend between 11am to 4pm outside in these hot days, need to ensure an adequate water and a balanced nutritional diet to strengthen the resistance left.
As forecast, the long- lasting heatwave in combination with low humidity is able to cause unexpected fires and explosions in the residential areas and high risk of forest fires in the Central and Northern regions.
