The number of Chinese visitors travelling to Ho Chi Minh City by air has increase dramatically in the first eleven months of this year. The city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said there has been an increase of 189%, as compared to last year.

After the Chinese is the US, Korea, Japan, Taiwan (China), Australia, France, Singapore and finally Thailand.
It is presume that this increase in Chinese tourist is due to Vietnam’s recent participation in the international tourism fairs, in Shanghai and Kunming. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism promoted and launched this tourism fair.
In addition, there are also many more flights between HCMC and varoius Chinese cities.
In conclusion, in November alone, HCM City welcomed 250,000 foreign visitors, an increase of 38% compared to the same period last year. So far, in 2010, the city has received 2,850,000 foreign visitors, up 22% over last year’s figures, accounting for 102% of this year’s target.
