Southern parts of the East Sea remained rough and choppy with strong winds on Monday, affected by the low pressure zone in the area, reported the national weather bureau.
The low pressure zone was positioned 10.5-11.5 degrees north latitude and 113.5-114.5 degrees east longitude. Within the next 24 hours, it will either move gradually west northwest or remain stationary.
The low pressure zone and the cold front have affected weather conditions in the country for the last few days. Northeasterly winds also affected the northern and middle parts of the East Sea.
On the same day, naval forces rescued a fishing boat with nine people on board in the central province of Binh Dinh near the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands. High waves pushed the boat against cliffs, wrecking and flooding its hull with water.
