Rainy weather alert is issued when the chilling air arrives in the central region.
Within last week, temperature in the Northern area maintained in low level, and damaged cold covered mountainous areas.
However, the weather agency has just issued that a new wave of frigid temperature from the continent of Asia is forecast to arrive in the northern region of Vietnam.
Through afternoon Sunday, the cold snap is forecast to influence in some places in northern mountainous, north- central and mid- central provinces.
Because of its impact, the northeast monsoon alerts will be at level 3 in mainland and level 3-4 in coastal region from tonight.
By morning Monday, shower and damaged cold warnings will occur in the northeastern provinces and Thanh Hoa with minimum temperature of 8-15 degrees Celsius.
The northern- central provinces will suffer medium- heavy downpours with an average rainfall of 20- 40 mm, even above 60mm within 24 hours.
From this evening, the central provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh are warned to see medium- heavy downpours of 40- 100 mm during 24 hours.
Because many cold spells have consecutively hit the northern region this year, the plum and cherry blossoms are in good harvest which made farmers so excited.
