An earthquake measured 2, 8 on the Richter scale occurred in the area of Son Tay district in Quang Ngai province by 9:30 pm yesterday.
The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center of the Institute of Geophysics reported

that the earthquake was located at 14, 989 degrees north latitude and 108, 348 degrees east longitude in the area of Son Tay district with its epicenter location at seven kilometers deep underground.
Earlier, another earthquake was centered at 15,32 degrees north latitude and 108, 14 degrees east longitude in the area of Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant, Quang nam province.
The earthquake measured 2,5 on the Richter scale with its epicenter location at seven kilometers deep underground.
Since the beginning of July, series of earthquakes have consecutively occurred in the areas of Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai province.
