The severe weather is forecast to come earlier than the same period of the previous years.
Average rainfall calculation over the Central, Southern and Central Highlands regions  from September to December are expected to be much higher than the previous years at 10- 30 percent; however, it is less than annually by 15- 30 percent, falling in January and February, 2020.

This year's flooding season is forecast later than annually in the Mekong Delta.

Amid the weather condition, the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center recommended the affected localities to actively have measures against coming drought and saltwater influx.

Meanwhile, the flow volume across big riverbanks of the Southern and Central Highlands regions averages less than the same period of many years. Therefore, warnings of drought, water shortage and saltwater intrusion in the Southern and Central Highland provinces will last until the first half of September.
