Currently, water level in Thao River in the Northern province of Yen Bai is rising rapidly, reaching 30.6 meter, a little bit lower than alert level 2 which might be able to trigger high risks of flash flooding and landslide in low- lying areas of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.
The weather agency recently warned that a range of tropical convergence across the Red River Delta and the North- Central regions has just re-appeared.
Due to the tropical convergence range in combination with the southeast monsoon, the Northern provinces including Thanh Hoa in Northern Central region have been suffering medium- heavy rainfalls while the mountainous and midland regions are also threatened by the peak rainfall of above 120 mm.
Powerful operation of the southwest monsoon brings showers, thunderstorm, big waves, violent winds and rough sea in the territorial waters from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, the Gulf of Thailand and the Spratly Islands.
