According to the report on natural disaster prevention, Deputy Standing Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention Nguyen Phuoc Trung said that around 836 vessels have moved near the shore while nine fishing boats are still working on sea.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Gio district Tran Minh Dung said that the locality has adopted measures to ready for taking more than 6,000 people living in Thanh An island commune and 710 houses along the banks of river to safe places if the tropical storm will hit the city.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Standing Chairman Le Thanh Liem stressed that Ho Chi Minh City yesterday sent a correspondence to direct necessary measures coping with storm and tropical depression in case of hitting the city or entering the East Sea; flood release at the Dau Tieng irrigation reservoir and flood tide up to 1.68 meters.
The leader also asked the localities need to eye position of the typhoon to timely provide information for the residents.
The border guard forces and Fisheries Department of Ho Chi Minh City should call fishermen fishing offshore back home or move to safer places.
