Dealing with prolonged hot weather over last month in Central and Northern provinces, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Head of Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control Cao Duc Phat asked relevant ministries, departments and locals to set up plans to cope with the drought.
Heat waves directly influenced warmer temperatures and serious drought in the area of Central, Central
Highlands and Central Southern region. Moreover, it also affected directly to resident’s life and planting.
Thus, the minister requested relevant agencies and authorities to actively support people to overcome severe consequences, control water source, and release water to ensure enough water for irrigation for agriculture.
According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, the temperature in the northern region currently reaches at 32- 35 degrees Celsius; meanwhile, the temperature in the central region maintains at 35- 38 degrees Celsius, even up to over 39- 40 degrees Celsius.
Weather situation in the area of Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces will be hot daytime, and thunderstorm and showery weather in the evening. The average temperature in these areas reaches at 26- 35 degrees Celsius.
