The Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held an award ceremony honoring outstanding groups and individuals, who won the 2014 Vietnam Women’s Awards, in Hanoi on October 17.
The event is to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) (October 20, 1930-2014).
Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan - Member of the Politburo, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the ceremony.
This year, the awards were given to five groups and 10 individuals, who overcome difficulties and challenges in working & living, and made significant contributions to the national construction and defense.
An exhibition featuring painters’ art works and marking the 84th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women’s Union was opened also by Thua Thien – Hue Province’s Union of Literature and Arts Associations on the same day.
