Sai Gon Port Limited Liability Company and Vietnam Maritime Commercial Stock Bank (Maritime Bank) has signed a cooperation contract worth VND2, 000 billion which will be invested in building the Sai Gon-Hiep Phuoc port in HCMC’s Nha Be District.

The port is designed by Port coast Consultants and is being built by Vietnam Waterway Construction Corporation.
The port covers 54 hectares and will have three wharves for vessels of up to 50,000 DWT with a total pier length of 800 meters and two buoys for ships of up to 30,000 DWT at a cost of over VND2.7 trillion. The first phase of construction started in May 2009.
The port is expected to becoming a trading gate in the southern economic zone and in the country.
