At 7pm yesterday, the tropical typhoon was centered at 170 kilometers of the eastward of the Philippines’ Luzon Island. The maximum wind near the center gusted 60- 75 kilometers per hour.
Within next 24 hours, it is predicted to move the west- northwestward at 20-25 kilometers an hour.
By 7pm today, its eye will be at around 670 kilometers of the east- northeastward of the Paracel Island. The strongest wind near the center will reach level 8-9.

By 7pm tomorrow, typhoon Khanun will parallel at 17.7 degrees north latitude and 115.3 degrees east longitude at around 360 kilometers of the east- northeastward of the Paracel Island.
Meanwhile torrential rain and flooding during three days ago caused at least 38 dead and 42 missing, the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention reported.
In addition, nearly 20,000 houses, 33,000 hectares of rice and vegetable crops were destroyed; and nearly 48,000 poultry were swept away by floodwater.
