Upon the question of Deputy Nguyen Minh Nhut that how the city transport sector’s urban traffic development orientation, Director Lam said the city is undertaking many traffic projects to connect ring belts and highways with inner roads to solve the problem.
According to Director Lam, it is a must to develop public transportation as well as reduce individual vehicles to ease traffic congestion.
Regarding major traffic projects, Mr. Lam said from now to 2020, the city will finish 22 projects and complete 41 another projects in the period 2021-2025 with focus on highways connecting inner city with roads to neighboring areas and paths to airports and Cat Lai port.
To answer Deputy Thi Thi Tuyet Nhung’s question about Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu Tho Intersection in District 7, Huynh Tan Phat Street, and second Thu Thiem bridge, Director Lam said that the groundbreaking of the intersection will be organized in the end of this year and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021.
The department is inviting bidding for the second phase of Huynh Tan Phat Street.
With regard to Thu Thiem Bridge, he said as per the plan, four bridges will be built by 2020 to serve New Urban Thu Thiem’s development stressing that the second Thu Thiem Bridge will be not only traffic highlight but be image of architecture.
Concerning fee collection of parking in streets of Deputy To Tram, Mr. Lam said the Department will apply technology completely without using cash. It will be piloted in districts 1, 5, and 10.
The implementation of technological parking has stopped from May, 2019 because of some unresolved matters including software problem and no proper sanction on those protested the project.
