Both Ho Chi Minh City and south eastern region has experienced a hot weather with the highest temperature of 37 degrees Celsius daytime and rain, thunderstorm at night on May 20-21, said the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.
Because of the influence of cold air wedging low pressure, heavy rains and landslide have occured in northern mountain provinces on the large- scale on May 20- 23.
According to weather forecast, the Hong - Thai Binh River system will appear a flooding with water level up to 2- 3 meters on May 21- 24.
Flooding and landslides are likely to occur in northern mountain provinces such as Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Can, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and Bac Giang.
