Super storm Hagupit approaching East Sea

Currently, a strong storm named Hagupit has appeared offshore of Philippines, reported by the Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Centers in Asia- Pacific region and the National Hydrology Meteorology Center.

Typhoon Hagupit is moving west- northwestwards with its speed of 25- 30 kilometers an hour; and according to forecast weather, the typhoon with complicated direction will approach East Sea on December 6.

Meanwhile, a cold front has shouldered north and north central provinces. By December 1, Gulf of Tonkin experienced east north monsoon of level 6, and gusted up to level 8.

The cold front is predicted to continue to operate strongly and affect directly to south central region, which will cause heavy rains in the central coastal provinces in the upcoming days.

According to the Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center in Lao Cai province, the last couple of days, the temperature in west- northern mountain area decreased rapidly compared with three weeks ago, including temperature in Lai Chau’s Sin Ho was 8, 6 degree Celsius; temperature in Ha Giang’s Hoang Su Phi at 9, 9 degree Celsius; temperature in Lang Son’s Mau Son at 10, 2 degree Celsius, Son La and Sapa at 10, 5 degree Celsius. In next two days, temperature in northern region will reduce rapidly.

In the related news, typhoon Sinlaku caused serious damages in property and lives after it swept through the central and Central Highland provinces, said the Steering Board for Flood and Storms Control in central and Central Highland provinces.

More than 137 houses, 3, 983 hectares of rice crop and 340 tons of seed rice were destroyed completely. Over 1, 500 meters of sea dike and canal were blown by flood. Six fishing vessels were sunk, estimated to loss VND 50 billion, reported local authority of Binh Dinh province.

The wind was strong enough to uproot hundreds of sugar cane, destroy 50 houses and hundreds of rice crops in Phu Yen.

Currently, local authorities of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen collaborated with relevant agencies and functional forces help people prepare their damaged houses.
