Medium to heavy rainfall has prevailed in several areas of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tien Giang Province over the past few days.

The rainy weather will continue for the next one or two days with rainfall abating by night time.

In related news, a low pressure system and a cold front yesterday triggered heavy rainfall up to an hour, causing flashfloods in Muong Khuong District in the northern province of Lao Cai.

According to district authorities, about 10 households in Muong Khuong town were submerged under floodwaters. Flooding caused about 30cm of mud to overflow onto two main roads of the town along a one kilometer stretch.

The low pressure system will continue to affect the weather in the north today.
