A charitable shopping fair titled “Nghia Tinh Mua Xuan” (Sentimental Attachment to Spring) organized by Sai Gon Giai Phong kicked off at the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace on January 28, with participation of 20 businesses.

The fair offers a variety of food, clothes and household goods at discounts of 5-30 percent, with proceeds going to the needy.
Visitors will also be treated to a music performance on January 28, which will be broadcast live on local TV channels VTV9 and VTV4 at 8 pm.
The public can also donate to the charitable program by texting NTMX to 8577. For each message sent, VND5,000 (US$0.30) will be deducted from the phone subscriber’s account and donated to charity.
The program has so far collected VND20 billion ($100,000) for the poor and social policy beneficiaries ahead of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday in February.
