Over VND15 bil for high quality vocational training

To improve vocational training’s quality meeting demand of the labor market, the General Directorate of Vocational Training plans to spend over VND15 billion (US$ 660,000) for 45 schools to teach students about main vocations and support occupation skills, foreign language.

To improve vocational training’s quality meeting demand of the labor market, the General Directorate of Vocational Training plans to spend over VND15 billion (US$ 660,000) for 45 schools to teach students about main vocations and support occupation skills, foreign language.

The plan was announced at the seminar on vocation training strategy held by the directorate yesterday.

By 2015, the country has 1,467 vocational training facilities including 190 colleges where students enrolled in 3 year programs, intermediate schools and over 1,000 other schools.

Until now, the rate of laborers who received vocational training in accounts 39.5 percent of total number of laborers, an increase of 18.5 percent compared to 2010. Vocational training projects invested in 100 major professions and 56 other professions reaching international standards and Asian level.

To address shortcoming in the vocational training, head of the directorate Duong Duc Lan said that the directorate would plan nets of special schools, increasing vocation training quality, eliminating sub-standard schools in next 5 years
