As reported, nearly 200 houses were flooded following the long- lasting downpour, which began at about 10 pm to 3am next day, causing serious damage to people’s property, 60 hectares of plants and more than ponds for fish farming.
Madagui is the most affected commune by the flood. The flood waters swept away more than 1,200 poultry chicks and 7 tons of fishes.
By the evening, the local authority was mobilizing on-the-spot forces such as polices, soldiers and young people in order to help flood- hit households to clean up their houses and overcome the consequences after the natural disaster.
