The sum will be used for building 2,725 new animal farm wastewater treatment plants worth over VND32 billion and repairing 989 old ones worth over 6 billion.
The city People’s Committee office yesterday announced the Committee had submitted its paper on supporting policies of animal farm wastewater treatment work to the People’s Council.
As per the decision No. 26/2008 of People’s Committee on April 1, 2008, in the period 2008-2011, around 1,314 households in countryside asked for loans to build wastewater treatment work to keep the environment clean.
Surveys carried out in five outlying districts including Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, BInh Chanh, Nha Be, and Can Gio, showed that 2,725 households are in need of building treatment construction and 989 other households wish to repair their old facilities in the period 2016-2020.
At present, the city is implementing the national program on building new rural development in suburban districts with 19 criteria. One of 19 criteria is about environment hygiene which is about clean animal farm with wastewater treatment construction.
To help fresh water and environment hygiene program - parts of the rural development program – succeed, supporting policies on animal farm wastewater treatment facility are needed.
Because the policies must be approved by the city People’s Council, the municipal People’s Committee submitted its paper for approval. Specifically, a household can ask for a maximum loan of VND12 million to build a new facility while a their peer can borrow maximum loan of VND6 million with the tenor of 36 months and interest rate of zero.
