Eighty contestants in Miss Universe 2008 arrived in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province Sunday to take part in events scheduled from June 30 to July 14.
On Monday morning, the beauties took part in the grand opening of a five-star resort called Diamond Bay, where the contestants will stay. The contestents, as well as hundreds of local artists, will participate in a street parade entitled “Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa welcomes Miss Universe 2008 Pageant” Monday evening.
Then the young women will take part in a swimsuit competition at Vinpearl Land resort on July 2 and visit HIV patients in Nha Trang’s SOS Village on July 3. An auction of two embroidered paintings by patients will raise money to support an anti-HIV/AIDS program based in Nha Trang.
The final rounds of the competition will take place on July 8, 13 and 14. There will be fireworks displays on July 13 and 14.
