Miss Elisa Najera, Miss Mexico, was awarded the title “Vinpearl queen” at a swimwear competition, part of the Miss Universe pageant, at Vinpearl Land resort in Nha Trang Wednesday.

Contestants from the U.S, Spain, India and Colombia also placed among the top five in the “Swimwear Show.” The winner received US $2,000.

Also on stage were singers Ho Ngoc Ha, Ha Anh Tuan, Linda Trang Dai, and Tommy Ngo, as well as Japanese dancers. As a special treat, Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori was in attendance.

The show attracted an audience of more than 5,000. It was held at a the five-star resort on Hon Tre Island. After the Bikini Show, the major competitions will begin.

Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin arrivies in Viet Nam

After several days in Nha Trang to promote Miss Universe, Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin arrived in Ha Noi on Wednesday.

Miss World and Miss Terese Sam, the first runner-up of the first Miss Viet Nam World pageant 2007, will attend a ceremony offering 30 charity houses to disadvantaged people in Tan Minh commune, Soc Son district, Ha Noi on Friday and visit AIDS patients in the Ha Noi HIV/AIDS Prevention Center.

She will then go to Uong Bi, Quang Ninh Province to present gifts to disadvantaged families on Saturday.
