Lao NA delegation visits HCMC

During the visit to Ho Chi Minh City, in the morning of July 24, the delegation of the National Assembly  of region 1, Vientiane (Laos) had talks with the standing HCMC Council.

During the visit to Ho Chi Minh City, in the morning of July 24, the delegation of the National Assembly  of region 1, Vientiane (Laos) had talks with the standing HCMC Council.

Besides exchanging of information on the social - economic situation, the two groups also shared the experience of organizations and activities  relating to positions of elected officials, the difficulties and limitations in the monitoring process, meeting, hearing and resolving  voters’ recommendations.

City Council Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam hoped the special traditional relationship between Vietnam - Laos forever be preserved, promoted to a new level of deeper cooperation in all fields. "HCM City consistently will try to do our best to maintain intensive communication connections, creating good foundation for future development of the two nations", she said.

Chairperson of National Assembly delegation of area 1 of capital Vientiane, Laos Latsanivong Amarathithada  remarked  that HCMC has been developed significantly. Even the marvelous things that had been previously considered as impossible, such as the building the underground tunnel crossing Saigon River, now that HCMC has completed.

Earlier, National Assembly delegation of  area 1 paid a courtesy visit to the delegation of the National Assembly  of HCM City. Head of City NA delegation Huynh Thanh Lap expressed pleasure and appreciation of the Lao delegation’s visit what contributed to the promotion of the relationship between the two Parties and the State in general, and relations between HCM City and Vientiane in particular.

He stated that those relationships are valuable asset that nothing can be compared. In particular, the NA of the two countries had worked together in many areas as well as legislative and supervisory activities that achieved great practical effects, Mr. Lap confirmed.
