Lam Dong flooded by hours- long heavy rain

A several hours-long heavy rain in Da Lat city completely destroyed  hundreds of houses and around 200 hectares of plants, vegetables crops yesterday.

A several hours-long heavy rain in Da Lat city completely destroyed  hundreds of houses and around 200 hectares of plants, vegetables crops yesterday.

According to initial information source, the large rainfall caused appearance of terrible flood which swept through the area of So Lang in Da Lat city and An Hiep commune of Duc Trong district.

Many people said that water level unexpectedly increased high which not only destroyed hectares of rice, plants and vegetables but also sunk houses under water.
 
The Central Steering Committee for Flood and storm Prevention in Lam Dong province said that 200 houses in Duc Trong district, 20 houses in Da Lat city were sunk under water of 0,5- 2 meters.

In addition, 200 hectares of flower, fresh vegetable crops, and 120 hectares of rice crops also were completely destroyed by the heavy rain.

The natural disaster caused landslide and uprooted 20 pine trees in the area of Prenn mountain pass.
