Hue to host International Trade Fair

The International Trade Fair featuring nearly 600 display booths of local and foreign enterprises will take place at Thua Thien-Hue Province Sport Center in Hue City on April 12-18.

The International Trade Fair featuring nearly 600 display booths of local and foreign enterprises will take place at Thua Thien-Hue Province Sport Center in Hue City on April 12-18.

The event is part of the 2014 Hue Festival and is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Thua Thien-Hue Province People’s Committee.

It aims to promote domestic products, economic cooperation and relations, and introduce business opportunities to enterprises.

The festival will introduce cultural activities such as Nam Giao Offering Ritual, Royal Night, Ao dai Festival, Oriental Night, musical performances, folk games, puppetry, martial arts and dance performances.

Highlighted events are Huong Xua Lang Co (Fragrance of ancient village) in the 500-year-old Phuoc Tich ancient village and replicas of ancient markets of Thanh Toan Tile Bridge.

Musical highlights include nha nhac (royal court) music of Hue and Thua Thien-Hue folk songs.

Also, 45 art troupes from 35 countries and five territories around the world have registered to participate in the biennial Hue Festival in Hue City of Thua Thien-Hue Province on April 12-20.

The festival will feature dishes from multiple Southeast Asian countries.  It will mark the 115th anniversary of Truong Tien Bridge and Dong Ba Market, the two iconic symbols of Hue.

The ASEAN +3 Ministerial Meeting on Culture and Fine Arts will take place from April 16-21.
