Due to the impact of a cold wave, the provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri experience heavy rains on large scale.
A cold wave which hit the northern region for the past days was expected to weaken but tonight September 30, it can gain strength. From now on, cold spells are forecast to continue hitting nationwide.
As per forecast, tonight till tomorrow, the provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will experience rains. Floods can appear on rivers in the central region.
The center said water level in the Mekong River will rise up on October 4 after it went down for last two days.
On October 10, water levels will peak at 3.92m at Tan Chau Station, 3.6m at Chau Doc Station. Water levels downstream Mekong River will reach at warning level two and three.
The low-lying areas and unprotected areas by dyke systems in the provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Kien Giang and Long An will be inundated.
