Heavy rains, floods hit central provinces

Water level on the local rivers were at over level 1; as for flood level at Thua Thien- Hue and Binh Dinh was reported at level 3 by local authorities.

A cold front is forcaste to generate the southern provinces; and central provinces are affected directly by the cold weather. In the upcoming days, heavy rains are predicted to shoulder on the large scale from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh, which will cause flood level increase again. Particularly, flood level will reach at level 3 in the region’s local river from Thua Thien- Hue to Quang Ngai.

Meanwhile, the Steering Center of Floods and Storms Control in central and Central Highlands region said that by December 3, although flood had gone down, Binh Dinh’s rice and vegetable crops still were sunk under water.

Recently, the bad weather has caused serious damages in people’s lives and property in central and Central Highlands region, estimated to loss tens of billion Vietnam dong.
