Heat wave spreads to northern region

Average temperatures measured 36-37 degrees Celsius in the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam.

The northern region saw mercury rise higher than in the central region. In Hanoi it rose 39 degrees and was 38 degrees in Phu Ly City in Ha Nam Province.

Hot and dry weather will continue in the central and northern regions today, June 13. This is the fifth heat wave since the beginning of summer this year.
