HCMC determined to reduce crimes

After Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Dinh La Thang requested the rate of crime to be reduced in three next months, the head of the city Police Department yesterday urged all forces to strengthen effort to fight against criminals.

Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, director of the city Police Department, said that police officers in the city will make concerted efforts to fight against criminals; accordingly there will be specific measures to reduce crimes in the city.

He added that there will also have plans to ensure traffic order and safety.

At the meeting, Dao Van Lung, head of the Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission in HCMC on behalf of press lauded achievement police forces in HCMC gained for past months greatly contributing to the society’s order and peace.

He also expected more cooperation between police force and presto timely report the police sector’s information and activities and well implement carrying out the Resolution adopted by the 12th Party Congress as well as the Secretary of the city’s Party Committee
