Female singers win Sao Mai 2015 contest

The final round of Sao Mai (Venus) Singing Contest taking place in the northern province of Thanh Hoa yesterday surprised people as three champions of three caterogies of musics were given to three girls.

The first prize of Chamber music was given to Nguyen Bao Yen, who excellently performed song Hoa Mi. The contest's judges highly appreciated  Yen's vocal music skills as she spent years in foreign countries to study music.

The first prize of Traditional music belonged to Nguyen Thi Thu Hang who was highly valued as she made traditional songs new.

For the light music, Hong Ngoc surprised all people as she was not as good as others yet she finally captured the first prize. According to the contest judges, candidates for the light music did not perform as well as expectation; therefore, Hong Ngoc won the first prize as she was brave to make her new with a modern song.

First prize winners received cash of VND50 million (US$2,301). Candidates Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, Hoang Thi Thuy,  Le Hong Phi, Le Quang Uoc, Bui Thi Cam Huyen will be admitted into the Military Culture and Arts University. The school will also give two year scholarships  to candidate Dang Thi Thu Trang.
