An extreme summer heat wave is predicted to spread across the northern and central provinces from this week until early June, with it’s the highest daily temperature at 40- 42 degrees Celsius, announced Deputy General Director of the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center Le Thanh Hai.

“The weather conditions will maintain hot in the regions until next months. Earlier, the northern and central provinces experienced to 40- 42 degrees Celsius” added director Le Thanh Hai.
The weather phenomenon El Nino is warned to apapear and affect directly to Vietnam’s weather condition from April to September. Because El Nino often causes drought and sparing with stormy season, the central provinces of Vietnam such as Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Quang Ngai will continue to experience serious water shortages on the large scale.
Since the beginning of this year until the middle of April, there had been no rain in the northern regions. Currently, the residents have faced to serious water shortages in their life and planting.
However, the Central Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center yesterday reported that because of the high rainfall in previous days, most of hydroelectric water reservoirs like Son La, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang and Thac Ba are enough water to use for electricity generation and agricultural production.
