From November 6-8, medium- heavy rains are predictted to spread across the provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai because of an impact of the ongoing cold air in combination with powerful operation of the east monsoon.
The high rainfall and the water release at the hydropower plants caused flood-level increase in local river systems.
Today, water level in Vu Gia- Thu Bon downstream river at Cau Lau station and Hoi An is measured at 5.2 meters and 3.3 meters respectively.
Flood- level on Kon River is predicted to rise rapidly in the next 12 hours.
Serious flooding is warned in lowlands of the central provinces from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh; especially the districts of Phu Loc, Phu Vang, Huong Tra, Hue city (Thua Thien- Hue), Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Dien Ban, Nong Son, Hoi An, Tam Ky city (Quang Nam), Nghia Hanh, Mo Duc. Chau O town (Binh Dinh), Dak Glei, Kon Plong, Tu Mo Rong (Kon Tum).
The central territorial waters from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will see maximum wind of level 6-8, big wave of 2-3 meters while the north part of the East Sea will experience strong wind of level 6-9 and sea rough.
The bad weather condition of showery weather, thunderstorm, powerful wind and sea rough are expected to hit the Paracel and Spratly Islands.
