Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) launched a competition on August 16, to encourage conservation of power and energy resources.
The competition supports the policy launched by the Government and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for conservation of power, safe and economical use of electricity, and facilitating individuals who use energy-efficient devices to save electricity.
The organizers hope to raise people’s awareness for saving power, using energy-efficient electrical appliances in daily life and encourage new innovations in use of energy.
The competition is open for the general public, organizations and enterprises in Vietnam.
Submissions will be received from August 22 to November 22, 2012. Each submission must contain a text in maximum 1,200 words, with illustrated pictures, and sent to Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper’s Communications Center at 450 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in District 3, or to email ytuongtietkiemdien2012@gmail.com.
The organizers will award one first prize worth VND25 million, one second prize of VND15 million, one third prize of VND10 million and 10 encouragement prizes worth VND5 million each.
According to Le Van Phuoc, chairman and director-general of EVN in HCMC, the company has promulgated many competitions that helped save 134 million kwh of electricity worth VND361 billion.
