The cold weather in the north that brought widespread rain with it on Thursday is forecast to continue for the weekend as another cold front looks set to move in, the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecast Center said.

After two months of drought, the northwestern province of Lai Chau saw rains with thunderstorms on April 15.
The rains will help save a large area of crops, reduce forest fire danger and provide water for households.
In the neighboring province of Lao Cai on the same day, heavy rains together with whirlwinds blew the roofs off hundreds of houses in Bac Ha District.
A 25 year old man died when his house collapsed.
In the northeastern province of Ha Giang, several small showers eased the high forest fire danger.
