The low pressure has mainly moved west northwestward with the strongest wind near the center at level 7- 9.

By this morning, the system continues moving west northwestwards of the southern territorial waters from Binh Thuan to Ben Tre, a speed of 10 kilometer per hour. And then, the low pressure is forecast to land in the provinces.

Because of its influence, the strongest wind can blow at level 6- 9 in the offshore water from Ninh Thuan to Soc Trang and Phu Quy Island while heavy downpour covers the central provinces from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan.

Medium- heavy rain, cyclone, strong wind and thunderstorm are predicted to hit the southern region. Therefore, the localities need to eye flood when heavy rainfalls are coinciding with tide in the downriver areas.

A damaged cold is forecast to hit the northern mountainous provinces tonight with the lowest temperature of 12- 15 degrees Celsius, event drop down 12 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the strong operation of northeast monsoon in combination with a turbulence of east wind will bring heavy downpours in the central provinces from Quang Tri to Phu Yen with the highest rainfall of 300- 400 mm. Flash flood and landslide are warned to appear in the local river systems.

In the face of the bad weather, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem led a task group of the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Recue arrived in Can Gio district to instruct necessary measures dealing with the tropical low pressure.

According to the People’s Committee of Can Gio district, there are 36 fishing vessels operating in the damaged zone, and nearly 6, 000 residents need to be moved the safe places if the low depression make landfall.

The city leader asked the local authority should be active in the upcoming bad situations, and plan moving people and poverty to safe places.

On the same day, the city steering committee on natural disaster prevention sent an emergency message to the districts near Sai Gon, Dong Nai and Nha Be rivers to eye and consolidate dyke systems.
