Children’s painting contest celebrates 20th anniversary of US-Vietnam ties

Tran Pham Nhu Quynh of Tan Kien Primary School in Binh Chanh District and Vo Tan Hung from Binh Tien Primary School in District 6 have won the first prizes in category A of a children’s painting contest honoring the friendship between Vietnam and the US.

First prizes in category B went to Le Thi Van Truc from Le Quy Don secondary school in District 11 and Hong Bao Tran from Nguyen Khuyen fine art club in District 12.

The contest aims to mark the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States and the establishment of twining ties between Ho Chi Minh City and San Francisco city.

The event attracted more than 100 children aged 7-15. Submissions featured the friendship between the two countries, aspiration for peace and amity among nations around the world.

Winning works is being displayed at Ho Chi Minh City General Sciences Library from now until August 23.
