A channel promoting tourism in Viet Nam has been launched on YouTube, giving audiences free access to news and images about places of interest across the nation.
Local and international tourists interested in Viet Nam and its culture, people, attractions, tours and services can also find information on the official websites of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including www.vietnamtourism.com, www.vietnamtourism.gov.vn, www.vietnamtourism-info.com, www.vietnam-tourism and www.dulichvn.org.vn.
The tourism sector brought a record VND230 trillion (US$10.9 billion) into the country last year, a 15 per cent increase from the previous year, after hosting nearly 7.8 million foreigners and 37.5 million domestic visitors—an annual rise of 5.64 per cent and 7.14 per cent, respectively.
A campaign promoting tourism, Exciting Viet Nam, used the slogan "Viet Nam – a safe, friendly and attractive destination" when it launched in September 2014.
Representatives from media outlets and travel agencies – both within Viet Nam and from key markets such as Japan, South Korea and Russia – were invited to join organised tours of the country.
The campaign also highlighted Viet Nam's tourism sector through international tourism fairs and domestic promotional events.
