Around 20 people were injured and hundreds of houses damaged by whirlwind in the last few days in the Mekong Delta provinces of Bac Lieu, Soc Trang and Kien Giang.

A rainstorm and whirlwind on September 23 swept through My Quoi, Long Binh, Tan Long, Long Tan and My Binh Communes in Nga Nam District in Soc Trang Province, knocking down more than 100 houses, many power poles, and damaging a cultural house, while injuring nine people.
Damage is estimated up to VND1.5 billion (US$71,145).
Five districts Hon Dat, Tan Hiep, U Minh Thuong, An Minh and Vinh Thuan in Kien Giang Province saw 85 houses flattened and 149 houses with blown roofs and three people wounded.
In Bac Lieu Province, the roofs of 100 houses were blown off.
Weather forecast said that Super Typhoon Usagi, believed to be the most powerful storm in 2013, has weakened and turned into a tropical depression after it made landfall on the Chinese mainland. However, North Vietnam is going to face cold conditions from September 24.
The National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention said the storm that hit the Central and Highland provinces killing 22 people in the central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Da Nang. Seven people are reported missing and six injured.
The flood and storm prevention steering board in the highland province of Dak Lak said they found the body of Vu Trong Bach, 32, who was swept away three days ago.
On the same day, locals near Lam River in Anh Son District in Nghe An Province detected a body of a child. The body has been verified as being of Vo Ba Hai, 9 , who went missing after a car carrying seven persons was swept away by swollen flood waters over the Khe Ang dam spillway.
