Vietnam’s Hang unqualified for London Olympics

Vietnamese runner Truong Thanh Hang failed to reach to the 2012 London Olympics as she was not qualified in the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in Daegu, Korea on September 1.

In the women’s 800-meter race, Hangwas in heat 4 together with Mariya Savinova of Russia, Caster Semenya of SouthAfrica, Kenya’s Cherono Koech US runner Alice Schmidt, Britain’s Emma Jacksonand Tintu Luka of India.

The Vietnamese finished the heat asthe last with 2:03:52, unqualified for the Olympics. Meanwhile, Luka rankedfifth with 2:01.89 to earn Olympics berth. The first four also went through.

The World Championships in Daegu,Korea have four heats in the women’s 800-meter competition. The first four ofeach heat plus the four with fastest times of all were qualified.
