Vietnamese weightlifter wins three gold at Asian Championship

Young Vietnamese weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan has won three gold medals in the men’s U56kg event at the 2012 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championship held in Yangon in Myanmar from November 6-12.

In addition, Tran Thi My Dung and Ngo Thuan Nu won two silver medals, one in the women’s 53kg snatch and another in the women’s 63kg clean-and-jerk event, respectively.

The 2012 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championship in Yangon in Myanmar attracted 75 male and 50 female weightlifters from 17 Asian countries and territories.

The event provided a good chance for Vietnamese athletes to hone their skills in preparation for the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Myanmar next year, and for the 2nd Youth Olympic Games in China in 2014.
