On December 12, Vietnamese athletes entered the first day of competition in the men’s and women’s swimming category in the 27th SEA Games.
On the first day, athletes will compete in seven swimming categories, not only in the qualifying but also in the final round.
Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien will compete in the women’s 200m backstroke and the women’s 200m individual medley category.
In the morning, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien attended the qualifying round, and will enter the final round at 6pm on the same day.
According to coach Dang Anh Tuan, Anh Vien is expected to win two or three gold medals for Vietnam in eight categories of women’s backstroke, butterfly, individual medley, and freestyle.
Along with Anh Vien, athlete Quy Phuoc is also one of Vietnam’s best athletes and is expected to win the gold medal in the swimming category at this year’s Sea Games.
