Vietnam carries out ‘Nationally Appropriate Climate Change Mitigation Actions’ project

Leaders of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) and Mr. Jochem Lange, Country Director of Germany’s Organization for Development and Cooperation in Vietnam have signed an agreement to implement the project ‘Supporting nationally appropriate climate change mitigation actions in Vietnam’ in Hanoi capital on June 10.

The project will focus on four parts, strengthening abilities and regulations of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for building and implementing Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA),  building and implementing several projects for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions,  setting up the national level tool measurement systems for NAMA as well as international negotiations on climate change.

The project is expected to contribute directly to the environment protection, reasonably using resources and technological innovation.

Besides, it will help the ministries, departments and local thorities to update methods dealing with climate change and reducing lightly greenhouse gases.

The four million EURO project will be implemented from 2014-2018 funded by German government.
