Vietnam Airlines receives 160 millionth passenger

The state-owned Vietnam Airlines yesterday organized a ceremony to welcome the 160 millionth passenger in 20 years and the 17 millionth customers this year at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

The 160 millionth passenger during 20 years of its operation is Mr. Bhang Shang Chul from the Republic of Korea who flew on the international flight VN417 by Vietnam Airlines from Incheon to Hanoi and landed in Noi Bai Airport  on December 27, 2015.
 
Vietnamese passenger Vu Ngoc Truong becomes the 17 millionth passengers this year on domestic flight No.VN240 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on December 27.
 
The passengers on VN240 flight on December 27 also marks the number of 250,000 passengers travelling on the new generation aircraft Airbus A350-900 of Vietnam Airlines in 2015.
 
At the event, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang greatly appreciated Vietnam Airlines’ achievement of transporting  160 million passengers in 20 years of its operation and the 17 million passengers this year.
 
This affirms its important role as a bridge between provinces and cities in Vietnam as well as between Vietnam and other countries around the world.
