In this event, the organization board launched a campaign named ‘Ao Dai for your friend’ to encourage people to share their unused ao dai dresses with the poor. Also, the board awarded 50 scholarships to excellent poor students.
An exhibition with the theme ‘Graceful Ao Dai of Ho Chi Minh City’ was held on the same day and lasts until March 31 at Ao Dai Exhibition at 77 Nguyen Hue Street of District 1 by the Museum of the Ao Dai and Sai Gon Signature Real Estate Investment and Development Joint-stock Company.
The exhibition is displaying more than 50 objects to help local as well as foreign visitors understand more about the history of the ao dai, Vietnamese traditional long dress, down the ages.
The most significant item among these is the careful restoration of the ‘imperial mantle of the Nguyen Dynasty’.
In this exhibition, visitors will also have an opportunity to listen to moving stories about the ao dai of some famous Vietnamese female leaders who made invaluable contribution in various fields such as military, politics, diplomacy, culture, health.
