Tourism representative office of Vietnam in ROK to be established

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism yesterday signed an agreement to assign Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (RoK) Ly Xuong Can (Lee Chan Kun- Korean name) to establish a tourism representative office of Vietnam in South Korea.

Pursuant to the agreement, Mr. Ly Xuong Can will be a representative of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to provide the country’s tourist information and services in South Korea as well as promote tourist activities of the agency.

Additionally, the ambassador will collaborate with the Tourism Market Department under the minstry to build and advertise Vietnam’s tourism industry in South Korea, to introduce famous destinations and prestigious tourist services of Vietnam.

Previously, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien appointed Ly Xuong Can as the Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador for 2017- 2020.

Ly Xuong Can was born in 1958 in Seoul. He was the 31st generation descendant of King Ly Thai To, the founder of the Ly Dynasty (1009-1225) in Vietnam and the 26th generation descendant of Prince Ly Long Tuong who immigrated to the Korean peninsula in the 13th century.
