A conference on how to develop tourism and related problems held in Hanoi yesterday stressed the roles of tourist agents in boosting the country's image.
The Party Central Committee’s Commission of Economic Affairs and the Vietnam Tourism Association jointly-organized the meeting.
Deputy Head of the Association Vu The Binh stressed that tourist agents should realize their role in developing the sector; accordingly they should improve staffs’ skills; additionally, they should cooperate with service providers to meet travelers’ various demands.
Recently, some tourist companies have ruined the image of healthy tourist for profits, making Vietnam’s tourism become ugly in foreign holiday-maker’s eyes. The Association will ask agents not to cut service price leading to unhealthy competition.
Participants said that for long-term strategy to give impetus for the sector development, enterprises should have products suitable for tourists’ demand and deploy new technology to promote and advertise their services.
